Innovation through technology transfer Advanced technological development is an important aspect in helping companies remaining competitive. Small and medium-sized firms, in particular, can exploit innovations in this area to enhance their company profile. So as to facilitate practically oriented developments, a collaboration with universities of applied science throughout Niedersachsen offers itself as a good solution: these institutions are partners in technology transfer so that the scientific and business communities can profit from each other to their mutual advantage. Wirtschaftsförderung Wesermarsch GmbH and the Institute for Innovation Transfer at the Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven University of Applied Sciences (www.iti-wilhelmshaven.de) have signed a co-operation agreement with the aim of intensifying technology transfer consulting for companies. To support innovation projects within enterprises, a free initial consultation with the experts at the UAS has been agreed. Firms obtain an evaluation of their intended projects and receive information on funding possibilities in the field of research and development. The opportunity also exists to integrate students in the elaboration of company-specific topics or to employ interns to help them gain professional experience.
